Care for the elderly in Northumberland.
Thanks to donations raised at this year’s Corbridge Family Fun Day and Charity Cricket Match, the running of the Community Respite Care Bed in Charlotte Straker House has been entirely funded between 2nd to the 11th December 2019.
Each week the respite care bed costs £892 and is funded entirely through grants and donations from the local community. So far this year the Respite Care Bed has had 38 admissions for short term care, all from the local community.
We invited John Maude, Chairman of the Corbridge Cricket Club, to visit the Community Respite Care Bed and he was given a certificate of appreciation for his team’s hard work in helping to organise the event.
Thank you to all those who attended and/or gave a donation at the Family Fun Day and Cricket Match. We are delighted to show how much of a difference the money raised benefits the village of Corbridge and the local community!

The Corbridge Charity Christmas Extravaganza was completely sold out last weekend and was a massive hit, raising an amazing £4,000 which will be split between ourselves and the Corbridge Youth Initiative.
Ninety people crowded into a beautifully decorated Corbridge Parish Hall to enjoy a delicious Christmassy buffet, the chance to bid on our charity auction and dancing to music from the Chequers Band.
Special mention must go to Papaya Catering for the wonderful buffet, Ian Wylie for the photographs and to the Charlotte Straker staff for collecting so many empty gin bottles to decorate the hall! Thank you as well to all our hard working volunteers and supporters who made the evening such a success.
Thank you to all those who came and helped fundraise for the Corbridge Youth Initiative and the Charlotte Straker Project – it makes a huge difference to your local community!
