Volunteers at The Charlotte Straker Project
We need your help! Please become a volunteer at Charlotte Straker House.
We need your help! Please become a volunteer at the Charlotte Straker Project.
We need your help to assist us in the day to day activities within Charlotte Straker House, and to help to improve the quality of our residents’ lives.
Volunteers are able to support our care home and residents in many different ways. We would be delighted to chat to you to find out your skills and interests and how you could benefit our residents and organisation. Some of the ways our current volunteers help include:
- befriending those with relatives far away, visiting weekly or fortnightly to help write letters, read, shop or just for a regular chat.
- participating in reading afternoons, games afternoons, music recitals and presentations.
- accompanying residents to social events outside Charlotte Straker House.
- managing the “shop trolley” that regularly visits each resident and sells toiletries, snacks and sweets.
How to Apply
Our volunteers come in all ages from 18 to 80!
We have an easy to follow volunteer application process.
We will provide you with an information pack. This includes an application form and details of the documents needed to enable us to request your DBS safeguarding check (this replaces the CRB check).
Once everything has been satisfactorily completed, a short induction will take place to help you meet our residents and understand the routines and safe practices in Charlotte Straker House.
We look forward to working with you to support our residents!
If you have free time on a regular basis and would like to volunteer please contact our office staff on 01434 633999 or email office@charlottestraker.org.uk
