Working towards the Gold Standard Framework in Care Homes Programme

By 23rd January, 2020 News Comments Off

This year we are working towards achieving accreditation with the nationally recognised Gold Standard Framework in Care Homes Programme. The programme is a framework to help deliver a ‘gold standard of care’ and has 3 aims:

  1. To improve the quality of care provided for all residents.
  2. To improve collaboration with GP’s, primary care teams and specialists.
  3. To reduce the number of hospital admissions in the final stage of life, enabling more to die with dignity in the home, if that is their wish.

We will keep you informed of our progress as we work towards the goals and standards required to achieve accreditation. It will take 12-18 months to embed best practice before submitting our portfolio for accreditation.

It is an exciting time for Charlotte Straker House. The Gold Standard Framework is an excellent way to demonstrate the dedication and commitment of all staff members in providing a ‘gold standard’ of care for our residents.
