Care Assistant – Full Time (36 Hours)

Department: Care
Reports to: Deputy Manager / Home Manager
Salary: £13.28 per hour

Role Summary

As a Care Assistant, you’ll support residents with all aspects of daily living, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing in a caring, respectful environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting).
  • Support mobility and the use of mobility aids.
  • Help serve and support at mealtimes, including feeding assistance.
  • Report changes in residents’ conditions to nursing staff.
  • Assist with admissions/discharges and maintain residents’ rooms.
  • Support social interaction and activities.
  • Complete documentation and adhere to care plans.
  • Administer medication (if trained and authorised).

Skills & Qualities Required

  • Willingness to complete NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care within two years.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, caring, and sensitive to the needs of older people.
  • Good communication and record-keeping skills.
  • Flexible and committed to high standards of care.
  • Understanding of confidentiality, GDPR, and safeguarding.

Marketing and Fundraising Manager – Full Time

Department: Marketing & Fundraising
Reports to: Senior Management Team
Salary: £30,000–£35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Role Summary

The Marketing and Fundraising Manager is responsible for developing and delivering both the organisation’s marketing and fundraising strategies, helping to raise awareness of The Charlotte Straker Project and generate vital income to support its services. This varied role is split equally between marketing and fundraising and includes the line management of one team member.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising

  • Develop and implement a fundraising strategy across a range of income streams.
  • Research funding opportunities and prepare grant applications.
  • Build and maintain donor relationships.
  • Organise fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Monitor fundraising performance and maintain accurate CRM records.
  • Develop new fundraising initiatives.

Marketing

  • Develop and implement the organisation’s marketing strategy.
  • Manage the website and social media channels.
  • Produce promotional materials and newsletters.
  • Manage media relations and press releases.
  • Organise promotional events.
  • Conduct market research and monitor campaign performance.
  • Maintain brand identity across all communications.

Skills & Qualities Required

  • Proven experience in marketing and fundraising.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities.
  • Creative and proactive approach.
  • Experience using CRM systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Mailchimp, Canva, and social media platforms.
  • Committed to the values of The Charlotte Straker Project.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of the UK care sector.
  • Experience within a charity or not-for-profit organisation.
  • Relevant marketing and/or fundraising qualifications.

Care Assistant Nights – Part Time (24 Hours)

Department: Care
Reports to: Deputy Manager / Home Manager
Salary: £13.87 per hour

Role Summary

As a Night Shift Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care to residents throughout the night, promoting their independence, dignity, comfort and wellbeing in a safe and respectful environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and support throughout the night, including washing, dressing and toileting as required.
  • Support residents with mobility and the safe use of mobility aids.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to residents who require assistance during the night.
  • Support residents with repositioning and comfort needs in line with individual care plans.
  • Monitor residents and report any changes in their health, behaviour or wellbeing to the appropriate nursing staff.
  • Carry out regular checks and ensure residents are safe, comfortable and appropriately supported throughout the night.
  • Support residents who may become unsettled, confused or anxious during the night, providing reassurance and compassionate support.
  • Assist with continence care and maintain residents’ dignity and privacy at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment, including assisting with residents’ rooms where required.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation, including night-time care records and observations.
  • Follow individual care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures and all relevant policies.
  • Administer medication where appropriately trained and authorised to do so.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure a clear and comprehensive handover between shifts.
  • Work independently during the night while maintaining effective communication and teamwork with other members of the night team.
  • Promote residents’ independence, choice and dignity in all aspects of care.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with GDPR and safeguarding requirements.

Skills & Qualities Required

  • Willingness to complete NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care within two years.
  • Previous care experience is desirable but not essential, depending on the role and training provided.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, compassionate and sensitive to the needs of older people.
  • Good communication and record-keeping skills.
  • Able to remain calm, reassuring and responsive when supporting residents overnight.
  • Flexible and committed to maintaining high standards of care.
  • Understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and safeguarding.
  • Willingness to work night shifts and contribute positively to the wider care team.
