Welcome to The Charlotte Straker Project!

Part of the Community for over 100 years, Charlotte Straker House is a warm and welcoming non-profit care home located in Corbridge, Northumberland. We’re dedicated to supporting the health and happiness of our elderly residents.

We offer a range of care options to suit individual needs. Our comfortable 32-bed care home provides residential and nursing care, while our eight supported living bungalows offer greater independence.

Everything we do is for the benefit of our residents. Any surplus income we make is reinvested in our care home. As a result our staffing levels, facilities and activities are at a greater standard than the majority of care homes, to the benefit of our residents.

At The Charlotte Straker Project, you’ll find a safe, nurturing, and familiar environment. Our dedicated staff, made up of trained professionals and caring volunteers, are available 24/7 to provide personal care, medical support, and engaging activities. We understand that emotional well-being is just as important, so we offer a warm and supportive atmosphere for all our residents.

(Charlotte Straker House is an open facility and we are therefore unable to accept residents with dementia where their cognitive ability means that they require a secure facility to support their safety or, where their dementia may mean that living in an open facility causes them or, others living within the service distress.)

• Hairdressing facilities available twice a week (not included in fees)
• Lounges on ground and first floors
• Dining room on the ground floor leading to outside decking area
• Wet room and bathroom with accessible bath for assisted bathing on the ground floor
• Bathroom with accessible bath for assisted bathing on the first floor with an integrated jacuzzi
• On-site laundry facilities
• Accessible gardens and summer house
• On-site parking facilities for residents and visitors
• Activities that are undertaken on all floors
