Join Our Team at Charlotte Straker House

Care Assistant – Part Time (24 hours) 

Department: Care
Reports to: Deputy Manager / Home Manager
Salary: £13.28 per hour 

Role Summary 

As a Care Assistant, you’ll support residents with all aspects of daily living, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing in a caring, respectful environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assist residents with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting) 
  • Support mobility and the use of mobility aids 
  • Help serve and support at mealtimes, including feeding assistance 
  • Report changes in residents’ conditions to nursing staff 
  • Assist with admission/discharge and maintain resident rooms 
  • Support social interaction and activities 
  • Complete documentation and adhere to care plans 
  • Administer medication (if trained and authorised) 

Skills & Qualities Required 

  • Willingness to complete NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care within 2 years 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team 
  • Reliable, caring, and sensitive to the needs of older people 
  • Good communication and record-keeping skills 
  • Flexible and committed to high standards of care 
  • Understanding of confidentiality, GDPR, and safeguarding
