“Mrs Dovernator” and our Parkinson’s Exercise Class
Our Parkinson’s Class was a big hit! Karen Dover, our instructor (now nicknamed “Mrs Dovernator”), welcomed seven people to her class, which was designed as a gentle introduction to exercise for those with mobility issues.
She said “I wanted to make the first session nice and relaxed and concentrate on stretching and very gentle movements. And after the class it was great to enjoy a coffee and a chat.”
Cheryl Kennedy, Home Manager added “we’re really pleased, that due to the grant from Parkinson’s UK, we can offer this class to benefit our residents and the local community. It was great to see several people visiting Charlotte Straker House for the first time and being able to introduce them to our residents and staff. We’re hoping the classes will continue to be popular into 2024 and beyond.”
