Great North Run Success

There was plenty of excitement and community spirit at this year’s Great North Run, as six fantastic supporters took on the challenge in aid of The Charlotte Straker Project. Maureen, Amy, Abbie, Sarah, Jim and Rob all took on the challenge after weeks of training and preparation. Their hard work and determination certainly paid off, and they can now proudly say they have completed the Great North Run! For Maureen, one of our trustees, this year’s run was particularly special as it marked her 17th Great North Run. She summed up the day perfectly: “It was a fabulous day, the crowds lined the streets and there was a plentiful supply of jelly babies, orange segments and ice pops on what was a very hot day!” There was even a spectacular appearance from the Red Arrows, adding to the excitement and making the day feel even more memorable.

Everyone at the home has been delighted to see the team take on this challenge and raise money for The Charlotte Straker Project along the way. Thanks to the brilliant efforts of our runners and everyone who supported them, over £1,500 has been raised for The Charlotte Straker Project. This incredible total will help us continue making a positive difference in our community.

It was wonderful to see so much support for the runners throughout their challenge, whether through donations, encouragement or cheering them on. We hope all six runners are enjoying a very well-earned rest after their fantastic achievement.

Thank you to Amy, Abbie, Sarah, Jim, Rob and Maureen for taking on the challenge, and to everyone who supported them, whether you were running, fundraising, cheering from the side-lines or following along from home. We are so grateful for your support!
